It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Linda Schultz on March 23rd at the age of 82. She passed away in the Barrhead Health Care Centre after a brave and hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
Linda is survived by her loving son Brad, sister-in-law Vera Kinnaird, as well as numerous other in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and many close friends.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Edmund (Etzee), her brothers Larry and Jack, and her parents Lois and Frances Kinnaird.
Linda spent her early life on a farm in Campsie, Alberta. She married Etzee Schultz on March 7, 1975, and shortly thereafter they built their home on an acreage in Mosside. She resided there until 2019 at which time she moved to Brookside Village in Barrhead.
She taught school for 33 years. She started her teaching career in Tiger Lily and taught there for two years. The rest of her teaching career was at the Barrhead Elementary School teaching grade three for 31 years.
Linda not only excelled at teaching, she grew many flowers and a big garden. She was known for her canning and her great pickles. Her pantry was always full. She also liked to bake and she enjoyed sharing her muffins and cookies with her friends.
The family would like to thank the many friends and neighbours that helped out in so many ways by bringing her food, taking her to appointments, cleaning her house, the many phone calls and sometimes just visiting and being there for her.
Also, thank you to Dr. deWaal for the many years of caring for Linda and to the staff in the Barrhead Cancer Clinic and the Barrhead Health Care Centre who provided exceptional and compassionate care for the past year.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Barrhead Health Care Centre, Ladies Auxiliary with the memo to Barrhead Community Cancer Centre or to the Barrhead Health Care Centre Equipment Fund or a charity of your choice.
A service to honour and celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Wednesday April 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Rose Garden Chapel with lunch to follow at the Senior Drop-In Centre.
