John Nickel

October 31, 1942 – June 19, 2018

John Nickel was suddenly taken to be with his Lord on June 19, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents, Kornelius and Olga; sister Evelyn Reich; brother Bill; brother-in-law Johan Selke and brother-in-law John Hoeppner. He leaves behind his sister Margaret Hoeppner; sister Klara Selke; sister-in-law Margaret Nickel and brother-in-law Ossie Reich as well as many nieces and nephews.

John was born in Highridge, Alberta. The family moved to Naples, and later to Edmonton where he finished high school and went on to trade school, becoming an electrician. He worked on many different jobs in different parts of Canada and the United States over the years, but his home base was always Manola, Alberta. He enjoyed doing gardening and fruit tree propagation there in his retirement.

A Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 27, 2018 between 10 to 11 a.m. at Rose Garden Chapel. A Memorial Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Garden Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to the Barrhead food bank or Manola cemetery.
