He will be deeply missed by his two daughters, Pamela Wenger and Karen (Rob) Kotyshyn as well as his grandson, Justin Wenger; brothers, Louis (Diane) and Roger (Eileen) Rondeau; brother-in-law, Gerald (Shirley) Sommers as well as numerous nieces and nephews, family members and dear friends.
Charlie is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; parents, Edmond and Lucille Rondeau; parents-in-law, Ralph and Ida Sommers; and his siblings, Wilfred, André, and Thérèse.
His friendly and humorous nature will be remembered by all who knew him. He worked for Alberta Transportation for most of his career, starting out as a grader operator and retiring as the crew supervisor. But his true love was building things and a year after he retired, he went back to work in the lumberyard at the Swan Hills Hardware store. He also built fences, decks, and lawn ornaments for anyone who would ask. He was known as someone who loved to coffee with buddies and joke with anyone who would listen.
The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1st, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Barrhead, AB. Memorial donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute or the Alberta Lung Association or charity of choice.
