Teresa Martinez, 66, of Bakersfield, California was called to heaven on Friday, October 29, 2021 in Bakersfield, California. Teresa was born on May 24, 1955 in Harlingen, Texas to Isidro and Isabel Sauceda.
Teresa exhibited and embodied the characteristics of LOVE. She was patient, kind, did not envy, did not boast, did not dishonor others, was not self-seeking, not easily angered, kept no record of wrongs, did not delight in evil but rejoiced in the truth. She always protected, trusted, hoped and persevered.
She loved gathering with family to make tamales during the holiday season. Her beautiful smile lit up the room. She enjoyed watching and ordering from the QVC shopping network. She loved music! So much so that she would purchase different versions of the same song. She worked for Homa and Primex Farms for over 25 years.
Teresa Martinez married Max Martinez on July 30, 2001 and have been married for 20 years. She is adored, loved, and survived by him. She is also survived by her mother Isabel Sauceda; brother Isidro Sauceda Jr., sisters Rita Ramos and Virginia Sauceda; children Edmidio Gaona Jr., Christina Gaona, Veronica Ochoa, and Jessica Gaona; blended family-children Brandon Martinez, Nicole Martinez-Cronk, and Anthony Martinez; daughter in-laws Daisy Maya-Gaona and Jodi Martinez; son in-laws Hugo Ochoa, Javier Recondo and Jared Cronk; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Teresa also leaves behind numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Isidro Sauceda.
Teresa will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma, daughter, and sister.
We will cherish the fond memories we shared with her. Teresa was highly respected and dearly loved by those who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
A Rosary service will be held on Monday, November 29th at 6:30 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park in the Canyon Venue located at 9101 Kern Canyon Road, in Bakersfield, California. Funeral Mass will occur Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, located at 900 H Street in Bakersfield. Graveside services will follow thereafter at Hillcrest Memorial Park in the Jardin del Angel.
A Celebration of Life Reception for Teresa Martinez will follow the graveside services and will be held at The Station, 7900 Downing Ave, Suite D, in Bakersfield.
