Sara was born February 27, 1981 in Bakersfield California to Ismael and Esther Cardona. Second daughter to Ismael, making his daughter Celina Cardona a proud big sister!
Sara graduated high school in Visalia California, and shortly after graduation met the love of her life Mark Bowen. They were married 21 years. She is a proud mother to her four legged fur baby, Chole.
Sara was adored by her husband. Mark would give Sara a spending allowance to go crazy and fill their home with almost anything you could think of. Sara had a knack for spending. And Mark, well he loved keeping a smile on her face.
Sara had the biggest heart. She always had a Holiday cards in the mail, and sometimes accompanied with a special gift. Although Sara loved to give, she loved to receive. Her mother loved to shower Sara with small stuffed animal gifts.
Sara had a love for her matching outfits with Chole even twisting Mark’s arm for matching pj photos. Chole was not too be referred to as a dog, when in Sara’s presence, THAT WAS HER BABY. She once was in Target an evacuation emergency alarm had gone off they were clearing the store with rumors of a shooting. A gentleman saw Sara with a stroller and ran to her aide. Once safe the stroller was set on the ground out of harms way, out popped Chole’s face. The gentleman said, hey that’s not a baby! Sara said, “Well that’s my baby!”.
Our Sara was diagnosed with cancer about 2 years ago. She had such a positive outlook and attitude. She suffered, but took it with such dignity. She didn’t complain about pain, she just took it. She was such a fighter. She was comfortable talking about her passing and it was important to her that certain things were passed down as heirlooms.
Sara had a sense of humor even on her worse days. She loved to make others smile and feel loved.

He saw her tired face.
God’s garden must be beautiful -He always takes the best.
She will be greatly missed and was loved by so many.
Sara will never be forgotten.

A visitation for Sara will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
A graveside service will occur Friday, December 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
