Nick is survived by his son, Elijah Legan, mother and step-father Lisa and Tim Lewis, siblings Amy and Chad Dials, Ronnie and Erin Smith, Rachel Legan, Dustin Legan, his nephews, nieces and cousins.
As a young child Nick was always outdoors, building forts, hiking, exploring wildlife and playing with his slingshot. When he was indoors he loved to set booby traps around the house.
Nick graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 2006. During high school Nick excelled at football and loved lifting weights. Nick and his teammates won the Valley Football Championship in 2004 for the first time in school history.
Nick was a student of life. He was always reading, learning as much as he could about astronomy, philosophy, religions, history, cultures, and learned something from everyone he spoke to.
Nick will be remembered for the sense of adventure he sparked in everyone around him, for living life his way, for being a great listener, for his smile and laugh, and for the father, son, brother, uncle and friend he was to each of us, but his greatest legacy is his son, Elijah.
