Earl & Nellie Price

Nellie Gail was born to Donna and William Burns in Aliceville, Alabama on May 16, 1937. She was one of 7, raised with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She enjoyed being outdoors and playing sports with her siblings. Nellie would later go to college and become a beautician.

Earl Wayne was born to Merrill and Charlie Price in Hornersville, Missouri on January 6, 1934. He was one of 3 boys. Earl enlisted in the Navy in 1952 when he was 17years old. He became a Navy corpsman and served in the Korean War.

Earl later became a purchasing agent for hospitals and then worked for many years as a materials manager and shear operator.

Nellie and Earl met through family acquaintances and wrote each other while Earl was overseas. When Earl returned, they were married in Watsonville, Ca on October 30, 1954. Earl and Nellie had 3 children; Teresa, Greg and Michelle. They raised their family in Capistrano Beach, Ca. They enjoyed gardening, playing cards, washers, camping in Sequoia and fishing off the pier of Dana Point harbor, but most of all they cherished time spent with family and friends. They enjoyed spending time with their grandkids, family parties and holiday get togethers. There was always plenty of food, games, laughs and love. For over 30 years Nellie and Earl enjoyed dressing up as Mr. and Mrs. Claus and spreading their Christmas joy and spirit to many. Our family and friends will treasure these memories forever. In 2002, Nellie and Earl retired and moved to Bakersfield, Ca.

Our family takes comfort in knowing that they walked hand in hand through the gates of heaven and are now reunited with their son Greg Price.

Nellie and Earl are survived by daughters Teresa Blanton and Michelle Price, Son in Law Steve Blanton, Sister Sarah Burns, Brother in Law John Sabine. Grandchildren; Matthew Mier, Cory Price, Kyle Price, Madison Price, Christina Carson, Heidi Blanton, Sarah Blanton, Victoria Blanton, Five great grandchildren, and Two Great Great grandchildren.

A funeral service will occur Monday, January 8, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.

A graveside service will occur Monday, January 8, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Bakersfield National Cemetery, 30338 East Bear Mountain Blvd., Arvin, CA 93203.
