A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 12th, at The Belle Rae, 2104 18th Street, Bakersfield, CA.
Beverly, 79, went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 20, 2022. She fought Alzheimer's with courage and grace. Bev was born in Fresno, CA to Margaret and Howard West. She grew up in Kerman where at a young age worked on the family Dairy Farm owned by her stepdad Liche Molatore. Until her passing, she loved telling stories of her beloved horse Sonny. Bev married the love of her life Wally and shared 47 years of marriage before his passing in 2010. She was an amazing seamstress and enjoyed volunteering as PTA President (Munsey), Cub Scout Den Leader, Girl Scout Leader along with Managing numerous Plaza Bobby Sox Teams. Bev worked for the Panama Buena Vista School District in numerous capacities before retiring. In 2011 Bev was acquainted with Bruce Torgerson, a friend from church. They married and enjoyed attending concerts, Cruises and visits to North Dakota. In 2013, they moved to Morro Bay, the area she loved so deeply and had aspired for years to plant new roots. They returned to Bakersfield prior to Bruce's passing in 2020. Survivors include her; son, Mark; daughter, Suzie Harris (husband Jeff Hough); grandchildren, Kaylah, Cody, Colton, Carson, Clayton; great grandson Preston; Sisters Betty Clement, Sandy Edquist, Darlene Miller; Brothers Dewayne West, Jimmy Molatore and numerous nieces and nephews.
