Michael A. Simone

Michael Anthony Simone, of Greentown, Pennsylvania died peacefully on Wednesday June 13, 2012. Michael was born in 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. He spent most of his life in Freehold, New Jersey. He was a devoted husband, loving father and proud “Poppy.” Michael worked as a facilities manager in New York City until his retirement in 2005. Michael was an avid golfer and bowler. He was an ardent fan of the Yankees, Giants and Rangers. Michael enjoyed crossword puzzles and took pride in developing an extensive vocabulary.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Vera Simone; son Michael Jr; daughters and their spouses Lisa and Eric Broder, and Michelle and Rich Grezner; four beloved grandchildren Matthew, Jessica, Nolan and Julia. Michael is also survived by other loving family and many close friends. Michael is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Anna Mastrosimone, and his sister, Marie Balda.

Family will receive friends at Boyd- Spencer Funeral Home in Babylon, NY on Monday, June 18, 2012. A Funeral Mass will be held at10 AM at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in West Islip, NY on Tuesday, June 19, 2012.
