Karen L. McNulty was born on February 9, 1957 to Theodore Loeffler & Ruth Catterson in Jamaica, Queens. Karen was one of the four Loeffler children, sister to Theodore (Susan) of Greenville, NY, Alan (Barbara), of Coral Springs, FL, and Donna (John Berna), of Massapequa, NY. She was a dedicated and loving wife to Michael T. McNulty. Karen was a devoted mother to Kelly (Arron), Maureen and Eileen, and proud Nana to Griffin and Makenna.
Karen was a graduate of Plainedge High School, Class of 1976, and went on to earn her Associate's Degree in Nursing at SUNY Farmingdale, Class of 1983. Karen was a long time resident of Lindenhurst, NY, who spent her days and nights as a registered nurse. She worked for many years at South Nassau and Good Samaritan Hospitals. Karen then served the needs of the children in our community as a school nurse in the Lindenhurst and West Babylon School Districts.
Karen's love for her family was her top priority. She was always willing to help others and spread small acts of kindness everywhere she went. She was a gift to this world and will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Let us continue her legacy in honor of the life that she lived. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear." Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be sent to the Pediatric Congenital Heart Association, http://conqueringchd.org or the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County, http://suffolk.wish.org .
