John L. Fitts

FITTS, John L. passed away on November 1, 2024 after a short illness. John was a lifelong resident in Babylon, living on Park Avenue for most of his life. He resided at the Bayview Rest Home for 9 years until he became ill. He was currently living at The Arbors Assisted Living in Hauppauge.

John enjoyed attending the Tanner Park Senior Center where he made many friends. Throughout his life, he helped with the Babylon Little League where he received awards for his dedication and hard work. He was an honorary member of the Boyd Scouts of America.

John received the Nathaniel Conklin Award for the highest level of volunteer service in the Spirit of Babylon Village in 2011. He was a member of the Babylon United Methodist Church and the Sons of the American Legion.

John was predeceased by his parents, Warren and Lydia Fitts, his sister Joann Secor, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by several cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be to a charity of your choice in John’s memory.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 10 AM-12 Noon at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home 448 W. Main Street Babylon, NY 11702. Religious service will be held at the funeral home at 12 Noon. Interment to follow at North Babylon Cemetery Babylon, NY. Boyd-Spencer.com
