I was so heartbroken when I received the call from John about Jackie's untimely death.  I thought about all the good times and yes, the bad times we shared.  As the family funeral director, I knew I had to make this a celebration of Jack's life, he always liked a party!  I  want to thank my staff for their assistance  in accomplishing this , so people could properly pay their respects.  
It was beautiful to see all the fire departments who assisted Wyandanch Fire Dept. in honoring Jackie for all that he did for more than 57 years.  Every person who came to pay their respects had their own story to share about him.  Jackie certainly earned  this  wonderful tribute. He was such a special guy, no one can replace him.  Now, Jackie is back with Linda and he can rest easy with the Lord.  I'm honored to have been able to call Jackie Miller  my friend.

Grandpa, I remember that you were at all my Deer Park soccer games, and I can still hear you cheering me on when I think about it. One thing I always try to do for people I love is show up and be there for them, and you always showed up.

I will miss you and all the good times we had. Thank you for everything and always being supportive of me and my family. You were a great man and a great role model for me.

I was saddened to hear of your passing. I will miss having you over for dinners and our conversations. I hope you know how much I appreciated you.  Never did you say no when I asked you for help with the boys or fixing things in the house or running over to change the gas tank so I can grill because I was scared to do it myself. Mostly, we will just miss you. Rest in Peace ❤️

What an honor and blessing it has been to call you my uncle. The amount of outpouring love for you is like nothing I have ever seen. There are a few people in this world that leave such a huge impact on people, and Uncle Jack, you were one of them. 

We  all will be mourning a true mentor, friend, family member…. A legend in his own way. There are not enough words,

TOB HazMat team mutual aid response to Huntington. Of course who rolls in as the chauffeur of the decon rig, Jackie Miller.  Helping the community & his law enforcement family with his fire department family and a big smile on his face. That was Jackie.

There are no words to express how heartbreaking Jackie’s passing is. I have had the privilege of knowing Jackie nearly my entire life through his friendship with my dad as Chiefs in the fire service. Growing up I would always look forward to seeing Jackie at parades and the Danch family picnic. I’ll always remember Jackie making sure I had enough corn on the cob with plenty of butter & lots of donuts. Eventually I followed in my Dad’s footsteps and joined the fire department. Jackie would check in on me & promised to find a leather helmet for me one day. This became our running joke every time I saw him. 
Not only did I get to know Jackie through the fire service but when I joined the SCPD I was fortunate enough to land a spot in the 1st PCT & I got to learn from Jackie’s vast knowledge & experience.  When I was a rookie the face I saw when I walked into the South House for my first Brotherhood party was Jackie. He greeted me with that trademark smile & hug that I will miss so much. The senior guys around me told me something I had already known for a long time, “listen to Jackie he’s a legend, you will learn a lot from him, he’s the best!”  He looked out for me from day one and always wanted to know what I was up to. “How’s it going baby, you make Chief yet? Not yet Jackie but maybe one day. You will. I’ll make sure of it just keep studying!”  
Jackie made sure to take care of me & my family when my dad passed suddenly. He’d check on mom at every parade. He always let us know that he never forgot his buddy Brad & that he loved the time they shared together as Chiefs.  
I know my words will not ease the pain from the loss of such an important person to the Miller family but I hope that you can eventually take comfort in knowing that Jackie gave so much to so many people. He has touched countless lives.  He was an incredible person whose legacy will live on for generations to come.  
Rest easy Chief, we will take it from here. God bless you brother.

My deepest condolences over the loss of a special friend to all who came across his path .  Jackie you left an indelible mark on the  Suffolk County Police Dept and the Wyandanch Fire Dept.  More importantly you left this world a better place because of your lifelong example of service and sacrifice . You will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

May his memory be for blessing to the Miller family and all who knew and loved Jack.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. His life of service was so impressive and I'm sure he had many fascinating stories to share! I'm hoping the memories of a life well-lived fill his family with comfort.
