Travis Darden passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2010, with his two sons, David Darden and John Darden by his side. His parents were Ruby Darden and Aubry Walker. Travis was a retired Auto mechanic. A WWII veteran, Travis was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and was highly decorated, the recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, among others. Travis enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Along with his two sons, Mr. Darden is survived by his step-son, Alvin Parker; his step-daughter, Sheryl Parker; and two grandchildren, Derek and Alexa Darden, along with other loving relatives and friends.
Mr. Darden will be remembered with military honors at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at the Spirit of Freedom Monument located at the Heritage Center, 936 Lohman’s Crossing, Lakeway. Other services will be private.
