Todd Alan Collins, 51, of Austin was taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly on the afternoon of June 9, 2012. He was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle with his friends near Stonewall, doing what he loved most in life. Todd was born in Augusta, Georgia on May 15, 1961 and shortly thereafter his family moved to Canton, Ohio where he grew up. Todd attended Glen Oak High School and graduated in 1979. He moved to Austin 20 years ago. He was employed by Dynamic Systems, Inc. and was located at Samsung.
Todd never knew a stranger and everywhere he went he seemed to know someone. He was a Texan at heart – his friends joked with him saying that he needed a passport to travel and ride outside of Texas. Todd had many passions, his first being to ride his Harley-Davidson with his friends in the Hill Country. He also loved to fish, camp, and boat on Lake Travis and Lake Austin. He was a huge fan of the University of Texas Longhorns and enjoyed attending the football games in Austin.
Todd is survived by his Canton, Ohio family; his parents Roger and Nancy Collins, his sister Christine and her husband Doug White, his nieces Samantha Douglas and Alyssa Nieschwitz and Alyssa’s husband Nate; and his Texas family; Karen, Joe, Brad, Gina, Stella, Rilo Baker and Julie, Jan, Jim Johnson. He spent the last 14 years with his girlfriend Julie Johnson.
Todd has hundreds of friends in both Austin and Canton and was always the life of the party. His smile could light up a room and he was a genuinely good, kind and loving man.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23rd in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
