We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Teodora Perez Ledesma, who was taken home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 1, 2024, at the age of 83. Teodora was born on December 30, 1940, in San Felipe, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Jesus and Maria de la Luz Perez.
In 1970, she married Jose Guadalupe Ledesma, and together they created a loving home where they welcomed two children: a daughter, Lydia, and a son, Jose Rafael. Teodora also played a special role in raising Jose Guadalupe’s son, Samuel Ledesma. Teodora and Jose Guadalupe remained devoted to each other until his passing in 1997.
Teodora’s heart was always in serving others. She worked as a janitor at several schools within the Austin Independent School District, and after retiring, she continued to contribute to the community by working as a lunchroom monitor at Harris Elementary. Her kindness and dedication touched the lives of many throughout her years of service.
A devout member of El Buen Pastor Assemblies of God Church in Austin, Texas, Teodora’s faith was a guiding light in her life. She found great joy and comfort in her church community and was known for her unwavering devotion and generosity.
Teodora is survived by her daughter, Lydia Ledesma, and her son, Jose Rafael Ledesma from Austin, TX. She’s also survived by her late husband’s sons, Samuel Ledesma from Houston, TX, and Sabel Ledesma from Taylor, MI. Her legacy lives on through her four grandchildren: Jacquelyn Ledesma from Liberty Hill, TX; Michael Fuentes from Brooklyn, NY; Julianna Fuentes from San Antonio, TX; and Robert Fuentes from Austin, TX. Teodora is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Saul, Daniel, Ruby and Melanie. She’s is survived by three sisters, Ms. Connie Perez from Pharr, TX; San Juana and Cruz; and one brother, Francisco Perez, all from Mexico; and numerous nephews and nieces, all of whom she loved dearly.
Teodora’s life was a beautiful story of love, faith, and strength. She’ll be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit and the memories we shared will forever inspire and comfort her family and friends.
