I'm not sure why I was thinking of Grandma today, but I come back to these photos every once in a while and always get a bit choked up. Grandma comes up in my daily conversations with Mother often - she claims that many of my good traits were from Grandma and her side because they must have skipped a generation - hah! I spoke about Grandma in my high school valedictorian speech back in 2016 because her encouragement of education was always inspirational - every grading period, she would have me bring her a copy of my report card so that she could give me a present. It was that encouragement of educational success that has enabled me to live the life of my dreams. She inspired Christopher, too, with her passion for personal finance - Christopher would say that I missed those lessons :-)

More so than that, Grandma had such a contagious sense of humor - I consider each day a success if I'm able to make someone laugh. These days, it's usually Mother from whom I can extort a hearty chuckle, but I'll always remember how hilarious Grandma was when we would take our weekly trips to the grocery store. Grandma was never very good at piloting the electric mobility scooters and always managed to run into some sort of display - laughter would always follow. It's a wonder we weren't banned from HEB!

Grandma, I wish you were still here so that we could talk and laugh about all of the places I've seen and all of the funny things that Mother says each and every day. Your great-grandchildren from Nicole and Christopher would have loved to meet you. I hope you're doing well :-)

to my Aunt Sarah, 
    I will never forget the many christmas days we spent with you. Daddy would drive us up there at about 7:00 am christmas morning in our old jalopy. we always were shy getting out of such an old automobile ..lol.Nanny told Daddy to take it off the street and my Aunt Sarah just laughed & laughed when Daddy said well Mamma do u just want mme to dig a hole & bury it?. i remember the year i got a  chatty Kathy doll .linda got a game of flash & we played all day. kathy would tell us how she cut her foot jumping out of the boat. and of course the grownups would be playing dominoes or cards laughing a lot.. i have many pleasant memories of my Aunt Sarah. She had the prettiest voice & she would so eloquently ask us so nicely to not boucne our new super balls against the back patio window... so sweet like.. she told us go to the front steps and let your slinkies ride the few steps there. what fun  we always had. i never got to see the old movies of us where my twin & i were toddlers but Aunt Sarah would always say how much she loved Leroy's babies. i loved Aunt Sarah. i enjoyed talking on the phone to her when she moved to Austin. She could tell such storiees that held your attention so well. she was highly inttelligent,you could always since that in her. i will miss her .i had been sick for 19 months and was unable to go to her funeral. i am so sorry for that. But i knnow she knew that I truely loved her. Rest in peace Aunt Sarah. We will see you soon with all our loved ones that have gone on before us. love, donna thomason kiser.

I'm sorry for the loos to your family. Mrs. Klassen was a truly wonderful woman and she will be dearly missed. I used to love talking to her and visiting her when I was in that area. I know that no one can replace a mother or truely understand the hurt of that loss, unless they have already been through it themselves.  I truly know how hard this time is and I will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts at this time of grief.  I know she is in a better place laughing with Mr. Klassen now.

Dear Kate, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother.  Even though we watch them decline and suffer, it still doesn't make it any easier when we lose our loved ones. Her photo is just like I remembered her-she was a very special part of my childhood and teenage years. I wish I could have seen her again as an adult. All of you will be in my prayers and thoughts.
