Ruth Ellen Milligan

Ruth E. Milligan, aged 87, of Austin, TX, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024.

Born on February 17, 1937, Ruth lived a life marked by a quiet dedication to her family, her faith, and her passions.

Ruth was a devout member of Teri Road Baptist Church in Austin, TX, and also worshipped at Islip United Methodist Church when residing in Islip, NY. Her commitment to her faith was evident in the way she lived her life and interacted with her community. A talented craftswoman, Ruth found joy and solace in crafts, sewing, and knitting. These hobbies were not only a pastime but also a way for her to connect with her loved ones, often gifting them with handmade treasures that are cherished to this day.

She leaves behind a loving family, survived by her children Donna Spence and her husband Dan Morey, Joanne Frost, John Milligan, and Raymond Milligan; grandchildren Audra Spence, Karri Spence, and Katy Frost; a great-grandson, Maddox Spence; her brother Ralph Fowler; sister-in-law Diane Milligan; cousin Kenneth Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews including Virginia, John, Melanie, Audra, and Kristen.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Augustus Fowler, her beloved husband, Raymond Milligan, and her siblings Calvin Fowler, Lou Owen, and Mary Kading.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ruth's memory can be made to the Breast Cancer Association and Cella Bella Hospice, honoring her compassionate spirit and her enduring concern for others.

Ruth's life, marked by devotion to her family and service to her community, will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Ruth will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
