Rosalie Aabel Davis, 85 of Austin, passed away on November 5, 2019. She was born on December 8, 1933 in Minden, Nebraska to Marius and Ethel (Youngson) Aabel. Rosalie worked in Civil Service for 35 years and as a monitor for Austin ISD for 18 years until her retirement. She loved spending her free time playing cards, Chinaso in particular, and watching sports, especially swimming. She also liked to listen and dance to Elvis Presley music. She enjoyed adding to her collection of Elvis Presley memorabilia and sharing her love of the "the King" with her friends and family. Rosalie's favorite colors were pink and purple and just about everyone close to her knew it! The holidays were her favorite time of year, but she loved Halloween most of all. Perhaps more than anything, Rosalie loved and treasured her family and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She touched so many lives during her 85 years, 68 of which she was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.
The family will be accepting guests from 2:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Cook Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Additional services and burial will take place at a later date with Layton Craig Funeral Home in Minden, Nebraska.
Rosalie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jack Davis; sons, Brian Davis (Maria T. Davis), Mark Davis, and Bradley Davis (Glynis H. Davis); grandchildren, Jason Davis, Jennifer Davis, Sara Davis, Susan Davis, Joshua Davis, and Karen Davis; great-grandchildren, Darius Davis, Deshawn Jacobs, Evan Martinez, Alanna Martinez, Alexis Martinez, Espranza Medina, Eddie Garcia, Kiera Satterfield, and Tamia Davis; and great-great-grandchildren, Azariyah Davis and Reelie Davis.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Davis, and her parents.
