Rodolfo Amador Flores, Sr., age 78, of Austin passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Rodolfo was a graduated of Austin High school, he enlisted in the Army, was a Korean War Veteran, transferred to Air Force retired 1974, receiving a Purple Heart and Silver Star, was a Vietnam Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Eusebia Flores; sister, Pauline Cruz; brother, Robert Flores.
Rodolfo is survived by his wife, Maria Flores; sons, Rodolfo M. “Junior” Flores, Jr. and wife Mary Alice, Jesus Mendez, Angel Flores; grandchildren, Rodolfo Angel Flores III, Estrella “Star” Flores; step-grandchildren, Monica Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Rachel Garcia; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Lupe Rodriguez, David Cortez, Alex Cortez, Christine Villanueva, Fernando Cortez.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment be at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
