Robert Todd Templeton passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 6, 2022 at the age of 68. He was born in Dallas, Texas to John Benjamin Jr, and Patsy Jo. Todd moved to Austin in 1977 where he lived the remainder of this life. He valued his family and the time spent with them above all else. He was a devoted father and husband, and his sincerity, kindness and generosity is remembered by all who knew him. He had a gentle spirit and a quirky sense of humor that endeared him to all he met.
Todd was a successful real estate investor, and supported various non-profit organizations in Austin. He served as a board member on the State Board of the American Diabetes Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and The Arc.
He was a sports enthusiast, and for decades traveled to San Antonio to watch the Spurs play. He loved the game of basketball and delighted in coaching his son’s and daughter’s WAYA basketball teams.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John Benjamin and Ethel, his parents John Benjamin Jr, and Patsy Jo, and his sister Joni Elaine Templeton.
He is survived by his wife Laura, his daughters Jessica and Alexis, his son Ben and wife Carol, his granddaughter Lily Roberts, born on February 7, 2022, his brother Jay, his wife Debra, and nieces Emily, Sarah and Simone.
Todd was beloved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. There will be a private service for family at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas. A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held in Austin, Friday March 11, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 5416 Parkcrest Dr., Austin, Texas 78731.
