Born July 8, 1938 in St. Paul, Minnesota, he graduated from Cretin HS & St. Thomas University, worked at 3M, and livened up even ordinary encounters with a great sense of fun. Moving to Austin, TX in 1986, that pattern continued with friendships at St. Thomas More.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Farnard Peterson and Helen Dian Peterson, and by many dear in-laws.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Fleischhacker Peterson, daughter Mary Kathryn (a.k.a. “Christina Garrity”), daughter Kristin (Rob) Pennock, son Robert Dijon Peterson, and grandchildren Laura & Grant Pennock.
He is also survived by sisters Gerry (Steve) Law & Lynn (Steve) Kluz, of St. Paul, MN, and sister-in-law Dottie Fleischhacker of Columbia, SC, along with many nieces and nephews.
Pete will be remembered by many for his generosity, warmth, good humor, ability to fix things, and his outstanding cooking. He was a devout lifelong Catholic who treasured his faith, his family, and his friends.
