Patsy, to all who knew her, was born March 8, 1930, in Austin to Webb Louis Connelly and Mary Agnes (Fischer) Connelly. A descendant of some of the earliest settlers of Central Texas, she graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Austin and attended the University of Texas in Austin, where she met Paul Ross Todd, a graduate student in violin from Kansas City. The two were married on Feb. 26, 1952, at St. Austin's Catholic Church before moving to Honolulu, Hawaii, where Paul was stationed as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. The pair would make several more stops around the country before settling in Omaha, Nebraska.
A devoted wife and mother, she worked hard raising her eight children with a loving care that impacts their lives to this day. A devout Catholic, she attended Mass regularly, sharing her faith with her family and friends.
Patsy was preceded in death by her son, Dale Francis Todd; her husband of 58 years, Paul; her sister Louise Connelly Hillen; and three brothers; James Connelly, Trent Connelly and David Connelly. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Browne of Dallas; her brother, Webb Connelly of Austin; six sons: James (Stephanie) Todd and Ronald Todd of Austin; Paul Kevin (Olivia) Todd of Phoenix; Kenneth (Alicia) of Gunnison, Colorado; Alan (Beecher) Todd of Ridgway, Colorado; and Brian (Michelle) Todd of Rochester, Minnesota; daughter Anne Todd of Austin; brother-in-law Bernie Hillen of Austin; sister-in-law Marilynn Todd of Sterling, Colorado; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She loved to read and sing, especially in church, and enjoyed classical music, particularly when played by Paul, who played the violin so beautifully. Above all, Patsy loved her family, who will miss her kind, caring nature.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with interment immediately following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment.
