Our beautiful, gentle wife and mother, Nancy Dillon, went to be with Jesus on Monday morning, September 8, 2014. She fought a valiant battle against cancer and was surrounded by her family at home until she was ushered into Heaven. Nancy was born December 9, 1936, the beloved daughter of Glenn and Floretta Maurer. She grew up on a farm in Julian, PA with 4 brothers that she dearly loved.
At 17 she married Jim Dillon, the man she would love deeper and deeper for the rest of her life. They were married 60 years on September 3rd. They had 2 daughters and 3 sons. Nancy was a devoted and loving mother who nurtured a close relationship with each of their children throughout their lives.
Her heart had great capacity to love, and after her children were raised, she opened her arms to 9 foster children that she loved very much. Nancy and Jim enjoyed 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, many of whom Nancy homeschooled during their kindergarten year. Nancy learned how to love so well through her intimate relationship with Jesus, who taught her that love is unconditional.
Though there is a hole in our hearts right now, we know that our family will be reunited one day in Heaven. God gave us a beautiful gift in her and we are thankful.
A visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 3125 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78705, Friday, September 12, 2014 from 7-9pm. There will be a celebration of Nancy's life on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Baptist church located at 2305 Forbes Dr, Austin, TX 78754. Interment will follow at Memorial Hill cemetery in Pflugerville, TX.
