She attended schools in Pflugerville and continued her education at Texas Lutheran College and Southwest Texas, now Texas State University in San Marcos, and graduated with a degree in education. Mildred taught school for several years at Fulmore Junior High School in Austin prior to her marriage in 1947 to Ned Parker. Following Ned's graduation from the University of Texas, they moved to Wichita Falls where he worked for Texas Utilities, now Energy Future Holdings. Their daughter, Cindy was born there in 1951. In 1985, Mildred and Ned moved to Austin to be with their family and friends. She was a faithful member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas and enjoyed her church quilting group, her Bible Study, gardening, baking, and being with her two grandsons, family and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years in 2015, her parents, her sisters, Ella Pfennig, Nora Pfluger, Pearl Krienke, Edith Hodges and brothers, George Pfluger and Willard Pfluger.
