Mary was educated in the Austin Independent School District. Mary served as a personal housekeeper and a licensed beautician, where she used her talents at the House of Elegance for many, many years. Mary loved to travel and attended hair and fashion shows as much as she could. Mary was also the primary caregiver to her mother until her passing in 2001, at the age of almost 101.
Mary accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and has been a faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Austin, TX. Mary was a quiet soul who loved to sing and always had some life advice to share. She loved to share her business savvy and how to always save to be prepared for the future.
Mary married Moffitt Waters on April 20, 1956. This union was blessed with three children, Norman Waters, Adrianne Waters and Michael Waters.
Mary was an avid gardener and loved working outside or sitting on her back porch.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Moffitt Waters, Jr.: her son, Norman Lee Waters; brothers George and Eddie Wilson; sisters Bessie (Val) Gibson and Sarah (Roy) Miller; and extended family and friends.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Michael (Adela) Waters, Elgin, TX; her daughter Adrianne White, Beaumont, TX; 5 grandchildren, Jaelyn Waters, Rondarian (Veronica) Waters, Trenton White, Michael White III, David White; 3 great grandchildren; 2 nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
