Marty Castro was born and raised in Austin, Texas. on November 5, 1939 to Frank and Felipa Ledesma.
Marty will be remembered as a humorous jokester. Marty love to tell jokes and be the life of the party. Some called Marty, "Party Marty". She loved going to Bingo, the Conley Guerrero Senior Citizen Center and playing the Texas Lottery. Marty loved to travel, volunteer, eat out, and enjoyed helping others.
She was well known in the East Austin neighborhood and beloved among her neighbor/s Laura and the neighborhood cats that she feed daily. Marty has lived in the East Austin area all her life and was know by many not mentioned. Marty enjoyed volunteering for various organizations, Austin Police Operation Blue Santa. Austin Council of the Blind, Blinded Veterans Association, and her Church Sta. Julia Church.
Marty is preceded in death by her late husband, Joe Marquez(Che). Sisters, Hilda Vasquez and Josie Villalobos. Brother, Eddie Ledesma.
Left to cherish Marty's memory are many. Dearest friends, Margarine Beaman, Delia Flores, and Chavelo Pessina. She is also survived by nieces, Sylvia Garcia, Hilda and husband Gregorio Alvarez., Cindy Vasquez, Martha Esquivel and husband Joe Esquivel, Anna Martinez and God Daughter, Debbie Benavides and Husband Casey Benavides. Nephew's, Michael Vasquez, Scott Ledesma, and Jesse Villalobos.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January, 18 2024 at Weed-Corley-Fish South, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX. A Mass will be held at Sta. Julia Catholic Church on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 12:00 pm. 3010 Lyons Rd, Austin, TX. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX. A reception will follow the burial at Conley Guerrero Community Center, 808 Nile St, Austin, TX 78702.
Marty will be greatly missed by many.
