Marjorie was born in Navasota, Texas to her parents, Marjorie Jameson Clark and Isaac Benton Clark. Marjorie married Earl Richards when she was 19 years old. She was a loving wife and mother. Upon moving to Smithville and then Austin, Marjorie spent her time enjoying her activities in Eastern Star, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Red Hat Society, and teaching the Bible at Travis Oaks Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Lawrence Richards and his wife, Mary Ann, and Lonnie Richards and his wife, Rosenel. Other survivors include five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Marjorie was a true daughter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was just one of 47 actual daughters in the UDC and was a living, flesh and blood link to American history.
Services are at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Travis Oaks Baptist Church in Lago Vista, Texas. Burial is at Forest Park Lawndale on Monday, August 22nd, at 1:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Travis Oaks Baptist Church Renovation Fund. 19615 Boggy Ford Rd. Lago Vista, Tx. 78645.
