Margaret Ann Rose (Peg), age 81, was called home by our Heavenly Father on January 23, 2015. Peg was born on May 3, 1933 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the daughter of Margaret Coakley McGonnell and Thomas James McGonnell.
Peg's source of love, pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, kind and fun-loving mother, and a grandmother with a heart of gold. Peg had a servant's heart, always blessing others with a helping hand or a kind word. Her hobbies were gardening, sewing, cooking, dancing, camping, swimming, cycling, and sailing. Peg used her amazing organizational skills as an executive secretary at Exxon/Mobil for over 20 years.
Peg is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph E. Rose, her two daughters, Joanne Kemper and Mary Ellen Clarkson, their husbands, and her seven grandchildren, all of Austin, Texas.
A Memorial service celebrating her life will be held at the Smith Family Chapel at Riverbend Church in Austin, Texas on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 11:30am.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the many friends and family members that have offered their love and support, and to the staff at Silverado Senior Care, Onion Creek who cared for Peg with the utmost respect and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Cove Christian Camps – Project 319. P.O. Box 9055 Tyler, TX 75711
