Madalyn Yvonne French, fondly called Bonnie, of Austin, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the age of 86. Bonnie was born in Houston, Tx on January 30, 1936 to Edward Theodore Bloomquist and Mini Madalyn Fones Bloomquist. This date was her mother’s 25th birthday. Her family moved to Austin, Texas when she was very young graduating from Austin High School. She married Roy Reeves in 1952 building a successful printing and boat retail business. They were blessed with one son, Roy (Sonny) Reeves, Jr. She began her career as a single woman joining the City of Austin. There she met her second husband Ernie T. French marrying in September 1977. Ernie was the love of her life. They enjoyed 25 years of RVing all around the West. It is said they owned 23 different RV’s! They lived in Granite Shoals on Lake LBJ, in Kerrville, and Blanco before returning to Austin in 1999. Over the years, Bonnie volunteered her time as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and Beauceant and Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband Ernie, her son Sonny Reeves, her daughter in law Beverly French, parents, two brothers Eddie and Grover, and sisters-in-law Doris and Cassandra Bloomquist. Her family includes one daughter-in-law Betty Reeves, step son Ernie Dale French with three grandchildren and their spouses and seven great-grandchildren. She has many wonderful nieces and nephews and all their children.
