Lorene Odom Fletcher was born in Quanah, Texas, to her parents, Alma Lorene Cain and John David Cain. “Tootie” was the 2nd of six children. After moving with her family to the Rio Grande Valley, she won the title of “Miss Harlingen” in 1945. She attended Harlingen High School where she and her sister, Billie Ruth, were twirlers. She graduated in 1947 and met the love of her life, Richard Neal Fletcher, who was home from serving in the United States Navy after World War II. They were married in Harlingen, Texas, on June 27, 1947. They resided in Sebastian, Texas, until they moved to Carrizo Springs, Texas, in 1952 where they lived on their ranch and later began Fletcher Real Estate where they worked hand in hand until they retired in 2000. They moved to the lake in Austin, Texas, and enjoyed several years with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and John D. Cain, husband, Richard in 2005, sister, Bettie Moore, three brothers in law, Daniel Gustafson, Don Moore, and Donald Gregory.
Tootie is survived by her two daughters, Jan Linnell and son-in-law John, Ricki Smith and son-in –law Don. Her beloved grandchildren, Jordan and his wife Julie, Jedd, and Jake and great-grandchildren, Kate Pearl and William Rivers.
Three Sisters, Jolene Gustafson, Billie Gregory, Yvonne Frank, and one Brother, Gene Odom and his wife, Paula Odom, and twelve nieces and nephews.
