Lester Andrew Mathiews

“To my beloved husband, father, and great grandfather.

He was a loving person, very giving and caring, and devoted to his Catholic relgion. I’ll always remember him and the good times we had.”

Lester is preceded in death by his parents, Barnie and Corene Mathiews, sister Geraldine Carrell and brother in law Earl Carrell.

He is survived by his wife Marta E. Mathiews, daughter Cathy Lynn Mathiews, grandson Roger Myers, granddaughter Shelsea Gate, son Dean Mathiews, granddaughter Lauren Mathiews, sister Phyllis Mathiews Beever and husband Bill of Pearsall, Texas; nieces Bethany Beever Jeakins and husband Shane of Austin, Texas; Brittany Beever Just and husband Brad of Frisco, Texas; Dorie Switzer Bennatt of Houston; nephews William D. Beever Jr. and wife Meredith of College Station, Texas; David Paul Switzer and wife Ruth of Wake Forest, North Carolina; and Dr. Fred S. Switzer of Clemson, South Carolina. He is also survived by 14 grand nieces and nephews from Geraldine and Phyllis.

Services for Lester will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at Our Lady’s Maronite Catholic Church, 1320 E 51st St, Austin, TX 78723.
