Lawrence "Larry" William Miller

Lawrence William Miller (Larry) of Marble Falls, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the age of 79. He was born on January 29th, 1943 in West Palm Beach, Florida where he grew up fishing, playing baseball, and enjoying time in nature with his family and friends.

Larry graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science and was a member of the ROTC and ATO fraternity. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army and was promoted to Captain in the Corp of Engineers serving overseas in Vietnam. Larry moved to civilian life working in construction as a Project Manager in Florida, Louisiana, and Texas. He served on the Texas State Preservation Board helping to restore the Texas State Capitol.

Larry was actively involved in the Methodist Church, Rotary Club, American Legion, coaching little league baseball, and was the Commander for the VFW Post 10376 of Marble Falls.

Larry was an avid Bass fisherman and hunter who had a love for barbecuing, frying turkeys, and cooking up Cajun food with just the right amount of spice and one heck of a roux!

Larry was preceded in death by his father, William C. Miller; his mother, Sallie Mae R. Miller; and his wife, Hazel H. Miller.

Larry is survived by his two sisters, Lynn Sutton and Debbie Boldrin; his daughter, Mollie L. Miller; his sons, William D. Miller and Stephen M. Miller; their amazing spouses, three beautiful grandchildren, seven wonderful grand dogs, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Dell Seton ICU medical team for the care and compassion they showed our loved one and us in his final days. They would also like to thank the staff at Celeste Care of Horseshoe Bay Assisted Living for their loving support and care over the past four years.

His burial service will be at 11:00 am on August 15, 2022, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park 6300 West William Cannon Drive Austin, TX 78749. A live-stream over zoom will be available for those who cannot attend in person.
