Kyle lost his battle with cancer on Dec 6, 2021. Kyle did not wish to have a service but there are so many people asking we thought we should pay tribute to him here. Please feel free to share your memories of Kyle with us here.
Kyle was born and raised in Council Bluffs, IA. He graduated from Lewis Central in 1982. He attended college at the University of Iowa from 1982-1986 and then went on to the University of Texas School of Law. Kyle remained in Austin after graduation in 1989 and called Texas home. Kyle loved everything Texas.
Kyle had a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of his succulents and sharing them with others. He enjoyed his newly renovated landscape and it brought him calmness when he was nearing the end. Kyle also enjoyed his dogs, Kate and Lilly. When Kyle found out he was sick he made sure that Kate and Lilly would be provided for. This is not surprising as Kyle fostered and rescued many dogs throughout the years. He could have one or he could have a house full.
Kyle enjoyed participating and helping lead community activities and was always there to help someone whether a lifelong friend, a neighbor or a stranger he just met. Kyle was still helping others right up to his passing.
Kyle spent the majority of his adult life in the commercial real estate industry, wearing multiple hats in the field: licensed real estate broker, construction manager, and property manager. Kyle joined several trade associations and became the President of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Austin in 2009. In addition to serving as President, Kyle chaired many different committees and participated in many others. His main field of interest was in advocacy for the commercial real estate industry, and he continue to serve on many committees with BOMA International up until his death. Kyle was a well-loved and extremely respected member of the real estate community and will be greatly missed by his friends and colleagues. Kyle had a job he loved, close friends he spent time with, neighbors he enjoyed, and a family he loved. Kyle had a rich life. May he rest in peace!
