Kenneth M. Wallace, a Navy Line Officer, amusement park owner and recreational vehicle dealer, returned to the Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2005. Kenneth was born on May 23, 1926 in Floydada, Texas and was a graduate of Gatesville High School. Upon completing V-12 Officer Training program in Missouri, he served aboard the battleship U.S.S. Tennessee (BB-43). A Baylor University graduate, he married his college sweetheart, Joyce Marie Curry and stayed by her side for 57 years. Kenneth was owner and operator of "Kiddieland" park on Barton Springs Road in the 50s, and he established a paddle boat business below Barton Springs pool. He later founded Mobile Manor, Inc, a recreational vehicle (RV) sales and park. Kenneth was selected as the National Dealer of the Year (1977) for his honesty, integrity, and customer service. Kenneth was a veteran, a Mason, an avid outdoorsman, and served the community as both alderman and mayor pro tem in the early years of the City of Rollingwood. He was an active member of Kinney Avenue Baptist Church. A caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he cherished his time with family and nature. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father and mother, Claude Henry and Faye Wallace, and his older brother C.H. Wallace, Jr. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce; his daughter, Diana; and his son and daughter-in-law, Ken, Jr. and Judy; his younger brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Luralee Wallace. His grandchildren are Kenneth Wallace III, Alexander Wallace, and Bryan Wallace. Surviving niece is Lisa Wallace, and nephews are Wally and Skip Wallace. Pallbearers are Ken Curry, Dan Davis, Greg Dunlap, Kurt Simons, Kenneth Wallace III and Wally Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmie Dunlap, Bennie Henson, Bill Presley, James Richards, Jerry Sanchez, and John A. Spillar. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2005, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral service will held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2005, with Gordon Bergstrom and Joel Thielepape presiding. Interment will follow at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX.
