Kay Sanders

Kay passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 25, 1941 in Austin, Texas. She graduated from McCallum High School and went on to attend the University of Texas. Kay married Terry Schriber on August 11, 1962 in Austin, Texas and they had three daughters, Kelly Broeker, Kim Lindner, and Kristi Lofton.

Kay was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bridge and bunco where she made many lifelong friends. Kay liked traveling, as well as cooking. She cherished time spent with her cat Maggie.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, William Terry Schriber, her mother Golden O. Anderson, and her father, Lee H. Anderson.

Kay is survived by her fiancé, Bobby Allison, of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Kelly and her husband, Buddy Broeker, of Lakeway, Texas, Kim and her husband, Dan Lindner, of Seabrook, Texas and Kristi and her husband, Scooter Lofton, of Katy, Texas; six grandchildren, Jennifer and Sarah Broeker, Terri and Nathan Lindner, Taylor and Jacey Lofton.

The family will receive friends from one o’clock until two o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 14th of November 2011, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 14th of November, in the Davis Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Austin Memorial Park under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of those who have supported Kay with their prayers and presence. The family feels extremely blessed to have had Hospice Austin support Kay through her last days.
