
I just learned of Kay's passing.  Kay and I worked together for almost 15 years at Penn State.  We both served on the strategic planning committee as section leaders and became friends and supportive of each other and our various duties.  She was an insightful, fun and a great colleague.   Kay was true to her values and beliefs and how they guided her work and dedication to faculty, staff and students.  She had a great sense of humor with her big Texas size laugh.  I used to tell her that her laugh was too big for Pennsylvania and she would tell me to shut up cause it was not going to change.  I will miss her knowing she left us too soon.



We were in 5th grade, Michael, when your mother organized a surprise party for me in the park. All these years later, it is still probably the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me - and I have never forgotten it. Just know that she put a mark in my heart that day. I worked with Kay as the Dean's Assistant, Penn State Libraries. I assisted her through her journey of promotion and tenure. I very much enjoyed this opportunity to get to know Kay. She was a great lady and will be missed. My deepest sympathy to the family.

I never knew anyone who had such a positive outlook on life!  Enjoyed
playing mah jongg with her when she lived at the Conservatory.  She
was a joy to be with.



My husband, Joe, was a good friend of Kay's when she was at McKeesport.  I am proud to say that she was my friend, too.  She was a very special woman.  My condolences to Michael and David and your families.



Your mother was an incredible woman. I'm lucky to have known her. I worked for her as a student at PSU. She was not only my mentor, she was a good friend. Heaven gained a beautiful angel.

She was an extraordinary woman with a generous spirit and love for the people around her, as well as passion for the world around her. I knew Kay from the time we both started at Penn State until her retirement. She was a joy to work with (long-distance) and we shared the angst of going up for tenure together. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and wish she'd had more time to enjoy retirement rather than fighting cancer.



So lucky to have known Kay for many years as a co-worker and dedicated Honors Program Coordinator at Penn State Greater Allegheny, but more importantly as a wonderful friend to both me and my husband Tim.  Her humor, thoughtfulness, laugh and beautiful smile will be greatly missed.  She was a very special and sincere lady.  Our trip to Austin and our visit with her two years ago will always hold a special place in our hearts.  Our sympathy goes out to all of her family.



Kay was a kind, generous, knowledgeable colleague.  I had the privilege of working with her at Penn State.  She went out of her way to help our faculty, staff and students.   Her work on our Honors Program enriched the campus and participating students.  Before retiring she organized a retiree list which we use to this day to organize events.  Her many contributions are remembered and appreciated.



kay was a wonderful friend and colleague at our campus. She was knowledgeable, warm, humorous, and spoke the truth about life and life on our Campus. She enriched all who knew her and did what all of us try: Leave the world a better place than how she found it.



My condolences to Kay's family.  My memories of Kay were her smile and kindness when talking with her for anything I needed for my area at Penn State.  She was a special lady.  May the peace and love of the Holy Spirit surround you all at this time.
