Karen Farrell Martin

Karen Farrell Martin passed away on August 7th, 2021 in Austin, Texas at the age of 66. Karen was dearly loved by her daughter, Dawn Warren, many family members, and dear friends. Karen is also survived by her grandsons, Alex Warren and Hunter Warren; her brother, Kevin Farrell and his fiancé, Lydia; her niece, Sheri Glover and family, and her nephew, Jason Farrell and family. She was a dedicated employee of The State Of Texas Workforce Commission for 38 years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was an avid collector and lover of butterflies. She will be remembered as a strong-willed woman whose independence defined her. It was her way or the highway. In all honesty, she brought a smile to everyone she met. Even in her final fight with cancer, she joked and laughed with the team at South Austin Medical Center, to whom we owe our sincerest gratitude. Butterflies are a common sign sent from a deceased loved one as a sign that their spirit lives on. Even though she flew away, in our souls she will forever stay. Now, she flies with butterflies.

A memorial for Karen will take place at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks at 6300 West William Cannon Drive Austin, TX 78749 on August 13, 2021 at 11am. We welcome all who wish to pay their final respects.
