Karen was born to parents Mildred Graves and John Robert Caperton Sr. on December 24, 1961 in Dallas, Texas. She grew up the eldest of seven siblings. In 1980, she lost her high school love James Myron Henson unexpectedly when their daughter, Natosha Lorene Henson, was only 3 months old.
Karen later moved to Austin, Texas, her home for the past three decades, where she built many wonderful friendships, and found her loving fiancé Craig. She loved her family and friends. Karen had struggles in her life; however, she was a strong believer in Christ and had a huge heart. She was an advocate for the homeless. She was always helping them find furniture and anything else they might have needed.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Natosha Henson; her son, Eric Latchie; her brothers, Robby, Allen, and Jimmy; her sisters, Cindy, Tina, Margaret, and Kay Kay; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren; her loving fiancé, Craig Brumfield; her beautiful niece, Callie Caperton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Lorene Graves and John Robert Caperton Sr. and grandparents, Bonnie May Ramsey and Kaver (Bud) Ramsey.
