Julie Ann Armour Penn, 46, of Austin, passed away July 22nd, 2011 at her home, in the arms of her husband, after a courageous 3-year battle with oral cancer. She was born April 5th, 1965 in Columbus, Ohio to Dave and Betsy Armour. The family moved to Austin in 1968, where Julie graduated from Johnston High School in 1983. She earned business degrees from Texas Tech University and later from the University of Texas. She worked tirelessly for the last fifteen years as an Inside Sales Rep for Ion Associates in Austin. Julie loved spending time with her husband and her large family. She enjoyed watching her many nieces and nephews grow up. She had a special love of the sun and the beach, and loved to travel and see new places. Julie was an avid football fan and loved the role of “Commissioner” of the Armour family Fantasy Football league.
Mrs. Penn is survived by her husband 10 years, Scott Penn; mother, Betsy Armour; brother, David Armour and wife, Kimberly; sister, Cindy Armour; brother, Mike Armour and wife, Pamela; brother, Dan Armour and wife, Judy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Dave Armour in 2009. Friends are cordially invited to visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Wednesday, the 27th of July 2011, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at seven o’clock that evening in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at half past ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 28th of July, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 4311 Small Drive, Austin, Texas with Msgr. Bill Brooks officiating.
