Juan Guadalupe Torres, 73, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018. He was a graduate of McAllen High School before joining the U.S. Army and serving his country in the Vietnam War. He was a general contractor for most of his professional life and proud of the multiple contractor projects he helped build all over Texas. Juan loved looking out for the next big adventure as an entrepreneur. Even in his last few months Juan worked countless hours trying to secure one last deal toward his life time of accomplishments. He loved his children and his grandchildren, was passionate about Christ, believed in the teachings of his faith, and was proud to have served in the United States Military on behalf of his country.
Born to Ascension Torres and Marciana Castro-Torres, Juan G. Torres will be joining his parents, and brothers and sisters, Alvino Torres, Hilario Torres, Pablo Torres, Vicente Torres Sr., Juan Torres, Nestora Menchaca, Esther Martinez, Joaquina Salinas, and Ascension Torres Jr. eternally in Heaven. He is survived by his brother, Macario Torres from Ohio; his children, Chon Torres, Lazaro Torres, and Cheli Torres-Ruppert; grandchildren, Sean Leonardo Torres, Lourdes Rebecca Torres, Parker Gabriella Ruppert, and Payton Isabella Ruppert; daughter-in-law, Sofia Torres; son-in-law, Kelly Ruppert; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.
Graveside Services will be at 9:45 A.M., Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road in San Antonio, Texas with Military Honors rendered by the U.S. Army.
