On Saturday, November 11th, 2023, Jorge Ignacio Pastore passed away doing what he loved at the age of 38. He was an amazing man whose purpose in life was to serve and protect others. He was a true patriot and it was only fitting that the day of his passing was Veterans Day.
Jorge was born in Glendale, California, and moved to Florida as a child, where he discovered his passion for martial arts and began teaching at the age of 16. He and his wife later opened Champions for Life, where he taught and mentored hundreds of children throughout the course of his life – most of whom consider him to be a real-life superhero and continue to aspire to be “just like Mr. Jorge.”
In Florida, he spent ten years in the fire service as a firefighter, paramedic, and lieutenant. His passion for helping others and his desire to challenge himself led him to the Austin Police Department where he became a police officer and ultimately fulfilled his dream of earning a position on the SWAT team. Out of everything he did in his career, Jorge was most proud of his service in the Honor Guard for both the Seminole Tribe of Florida and the APD. He was fiercely loyal and protective of the many people who were lucky enough to be loved by him.
Jorge was blessed to be married to the love of his life, Kim. They enjoyed travelling, music, staying active, and their dogs Champ & Bella. But most of all, quiet time together was what they cherished most. He was a supportive and caring stepfather to Connor and Trevor and was so proud of the men they have become.
It was important to Jorge to elevate, motivate, support everyone he came in contact with, and to encourage them to be the best versions of themselves. He loved to make people laugh and always put others first. Jorge was truly a humble warrior who championed other people's dreams, goals, and accomplishments. Those who loved him have lost the person they could always depend on to support and love them unconditionally. We have lost an amazing human being whose entire existence was spent serving others and making their lives both better and safer.
He is survived by his loving wife Kim, his stepchildren Connor, Trevor, and Taylor, his mother Lourdes, his father Jorge (wife Yesica) and their three children, his beloved sisters Tatiana (husband Juan Miguel) and Nohely, as well as his many aunts, uncles, and cousins that loved him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Services will be held at Germania Insurance Amphitheater, 9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd, Austin, TX 78617 on Friday, November 17th. Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM and Funeral Services at 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM., followed by Police Honors for Jorge in the Circuit of the Americas parking lot.
