Jon Wesley Ratcliff

Jon Wesley Ratcliff, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on September 22, 2024. Jon was born on April 16,1982 in Austin, Texas. Born with a heart full of compassion and a spirit of service, Jon touched the lives of many through his dedication to his country and community.

Jon proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. A dream of his from a young age, and a role that shaped him into the strong and caring man he was. Jon served in the 1st Marine Division, 1st Battalion, 11th Regiment. His Battalion played a key role in the Battle of Nasiriya during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

After serving his country with the USMC, his commitment to public service continued as a member of law enforcement, where he worked tirelessly to protect and serve those around him. His sense of duty and love for his country were unwavering.

An avid University of Texas Longhorns fan, Jon never missed an opportunity to cheer for the Horns, often sharing that passion with family and friends. His Marine Corps buddies were like family to him, and the bond they shared remained unbreakable through the years. Jon also enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing trips with other veterans and friends.

Jon was preceded in death by his loving grandmother Birdie Eskew, cousins Ashlee Woten, and Amanda Eskew.

Jon is survived by his wife, Zuleyka Izquierdo, son, Wesley Ratcliff, daughter, Amelia Ratcliff, his mother, Shea Billingsley, step-father, Dave Billingsley, father, John Ratcliff, sister, Kellie (Curtis) Raymond, brother, BJ (Kara) Solomon, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws.

His memory will forever be cherished by his large and devoted family, who will miss his presence, his kindness, and his infectious smile.

Jon's life was a testament to the power of love, loyalty, and service, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. May he rest in peace, forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
