JoAnn Lane Neal, born January 19th, 1932 joined her Lord and Savior on February 2nd, 2017 at her home in Cedar Park, Texas. JoAnn was the second of six children born to Caroline Hannah Haley and J.R. Lane in Brownsville, Texas. JoAnn was raised in Laredo, Texas where she met her husband, Charlie R. Neal, Sr., at a U.S.O. dance. They were married on September 26, 1952 and produced three children.
After her husband was stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base JoAnn went back to school and became a beautician for many years while raising her children in Austin.
In passing, JoAnn joins her parents, her husband Charlie R. Neal Sr., (2001), her sister Bonnie (Lane) Nall, and brothers Douglas Lane and J.R. Lane. She leaves behind to cherish her memory sister Bessie Bauer (Roger) of Houston, Texas, brother Jerry Lane of Hempstead, Texas, daughter Cynthia Dian Newbury (Jerry) of Cedar Park, Texas, son Charlie R. Neal, Jr., (Jamie) of Austin, Texas and son James Ray Neal of Lago Vista, Texas. She is survived by six grandchildren Heather Almendarez (Miguel) of Georgetown, Texas, Jamie Bihl (Sonny) of Hutto, Texas, Christopher Neal (Melissa) of Hutto, Texas, Joshua Neal (Melanie) of Germantown, Maryland, Tara Neal and Matthew Neal of Leander, Texas. Joann is also survived by nine great-grandchildren - Jordan, Alicia and Alejandra Almendarez, Ash Bell, Juliet Bihl, Dageon Neal, Layla Neal, Alana Neal and Seth Neal.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6;00-8:00 PM, on Monday, the 6th of February 2017, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, the 7th of February 2017, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks, Pflugerville, Texas.
