Jeannette Lara Markus, age 85, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2013. She moved to Austin in 1958 and raised her family there. Born on May 10, 1928, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Markus.
She is survived by her children, Dr. George Markus, of Dallas, Texas, Dr. Robert Markus, of West Lake, Texas, Nicole Strickland of Cypress, Texas and Michelle Markus of Pflugerville, Texas. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 14 at 6:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX 78705.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff over the years at Gracy-Woods for caring for her in her latter years.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
