James Charles Lyons

Born February 2, 1938, Jim was the devoted son of Mary (née Owens) and Leonard Lyons. He was raised in Cresco, Iowa and Minneapolis with loving siblings, Helen (Crowe), Gingi, Nancy (Starbird), Bob, Dan, Leonard, George and David.

Jim married Mary (née O’Boyle) Lyons in Chicago in 1967. The couple had three children and enjoyed 57 years of marriage together.

Jim served two years in the US Army and was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He had a distinguished career in Houston’s petrochemicals industry as a National Accounts Manager for ARCO Chemical Corporation.

A devout Catholic, Jim was a founding member of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Spring, Texas. He was an active parishioner at St. Mary Margaret Catholic Church in Cedar Park, Texas and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Jim was a loving, dedicated and generous husband and father. He is survived by his wife Mary (O’Boyle) Lyons; daughters Megan Lyons and Sheila Lyons; son James Lyons, wife Lindsey (née Flue) Lyons and grandson Brennan Lyons.

Jim will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor and countless wishes of, “God bless!” In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Houston.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Lyons will be Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 10:30AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cedar Park, TX 78613.
