James was a man of golf. It came very naturally to him. He impressively had 5 holes in one. He started his career on the Gainesville High School golf team and ended his career working at Morris Williams Golf Course in Austin. Understandably, the best years of his life. James was known for his dry wit, memory of an elephant and joke delivery. He always had a nickname for everyone. He cherished his strong relationships and always said, "In my obituary, just say, THE OLD FART DIED"
James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Diana, his 3 children, Andrew Arthur Evans of Glastonbury, CT, Dee Ann Muth of San Antonio, TX, James Matthew Evans of Austin, TX,
5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his sister, Donna Ward of Irving
A family gathering will be held at a later date.
