Born in Boston, Massachusetts, and spending his childhood years in Lexington, Massachusetts, he was the only child of James Francis Casey of Ireland and Elizabeth MacNeil Casey of Nova Scotia. He will be sorely missed by his beloved wife of 38 years, Margaret Flaherty Casey (Peggy), extended family and the many good friends with whom he shared very special moments over the years.
During his career, Jim enjoyed extensive success in business development in technology-based industries bringing fiscal life to start-ups and major expansion to Fortune 500 firms. After spending his early retirement years building his own successful business consulting practice, Jim spent his last 18 years in service to his community as President Board of Directors at River Place Municipal Utility District.
Jim lived a long and full life, filling every day to its capacity. He was passionate about opera, traveling great distances with his wife, Peggy, and friends to enjoy Wagner. He took great pleasure in mentoring future leaders in the business world and helping those with a desire to overcome alcohol addiction. His direct and energetic approach to problem solving was appreciated by all who sought his counsel.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 5455 Bee Cave Rd., West Lake Hills, Texas on Tuesday, September 22nd at 11:00 AM preceded by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:00 am. Refreshments will be served after Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Austin or the charity of your choice.
