Harry George Fendrich, beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away on March 15, 2024 in Austin, Texas. He was born in San Diego, California, son of Manning and Grace (Davidow) Fendrich, and raised in Los Angeles.
Harry’s life was marked by numerous achievements and successes. After graduating valedictorian from UCLA Business School, he embarked on a successful career that spanned over three decades as an executive with W. R. Grace, then as President and CEO of Homco International in Houston, Texas. His leadership skills, business acumen and integrity were admired by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Later in his career, Harry ventured into entrepreneurship by running a home health care company in Charleston, South Carolina alongside his devoted wife Nancy. Together, they poured their hearts into providing compassionate care for those in need.
After moving to Austin, Harry found joy and fulfillment spending time with his family, friends and beloved yellow Labrador Retrievers Annie and Buck.
One of Harry’s proudest accomplishments was creating a company with his son Adam. Their shared passion brought them closer together while leaving behind a legacy that will endure for many years.
Harry treasured the time he spent with his family. He is survived by Nancy - his loving wife of 54 years - along with their children and spouses- daughter Catherine and husband Chad, son Adam and wife Alex, son Manning and wife Lawren, and beloved granddaughter Caroline. He is also survived by his sister Faye Bloomberg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A ceremony celebrating Harry’s remarkable life will be held Tuesday, March 19, from 2 to 4 PM at Weed Corley Fish Parkcrest, Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to either Austin Hospice or Classic Canines of Austin or the charity of your choice.
The world has lost an incredible soul but we take solace knowing that Harry leaves behind an enduring legacy through his professional accomplishments and personal relationships. His wisdom and honesty and unwavering love will forever remain etched within our hearts.
