Gregory M. Roach, 29, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 1, 2016. He courageously battled and conquered a liver transplant, lymphoma, and most recently a stem cell transplant. Despite his ongoing battle with primary sclerosing cholangitis, his passing was unexpected. Gregory was born on August 7, 1987 in Austin, the son of Suzanne Mann Latimer and Mark Roach. He attended Hyde Park Baptist School from daycare until his graduation in 2005. Gregory was Valedictorian of his class and received the Panther Award for outstanding character and Christian values. After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas in Austin, Gregory moved to Dallas and was most recently working at TxDOT. He attended Chase Oaks Church and was involved in a life group. Gregory loved all things Disney, Marvel, classic literature, video games, and his family.
Gregory is survived by his parents Suzanne and Cliff Latimer and Mark Roach; his brothers Benjamin Evans and David Roach; sisters-in-law Bethany Evans and Kelsey Roach; step-siblings Devin Roush and Greg and Dana Latimer. He is also survived by his uncles Robert and Joe Billy Mann, and his cousins Michelle, Michael, Jonathan, and Missy Mann.
Family and friends are welcome at the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin. The burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, Gregory's family asks that you consider donations to American Cancer Society or PSC Partners Seeking a Cure.
Gregory's favorite Bible verse: This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it. - John 11:4
