It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Adair Jentz, a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, proud son, caring brother and accomplished professional. Gary passed away unexpectedly on November 29th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, dedication, and a life filled with extraordinary achievements.
Gary, born in Norman, Oklahoma, exemplified determination and leadership starting in his elementary and middle school years. As an Anderson High quarterback and a member of the National Honor Society, he excelled both academically and athletically. Gary also demonstrated a strong work ethic by holding multiple paying jobs, showcasing his dedication and drive both on and off the field and in the classroom. In 1981, he graduated Cum Laude with an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Business Administration, and in 1982, went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Business Administration, both from Stephen F. Austin State University.
During his time at SFA, Gary excelled not only academically but also as a three-year letterman in football and a two-year basketball letterman. He was honored as Mr. Stephen F. Austin in 1981, a testament to his leadership, ethics, and contributions to the university.
Professionally, Gary thrived as the President and CEO of Jentz Enterprises, Inc., where he successfully led ventures in real estate brokerage, construction, aerial photography, oil exploration, and commodity trading. His career reflected his entrepreneurial spirit, work ethic, and ability to transform vision into reality.
Above all, Gary cherished his role as a family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela; his children: Emily and husband Eddie, Javier and wife Diana, Maricarmen and husband Marcos Ⅱ, and Esteban and wife Amanda; and his grandchildren: Penelope, Zoe, Marcos Ⅲ, and Leo, who brought him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by his mother, JoAnn, and his sisters, Katherine and Loretta.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Gaylord Adair Jentz, and his younger brother, Rory Adair Jentz.
Gary's strong presence, wisdom, and unyielding love for his family and friends will be deeply missed. He lived his life in deep faith and belief in God; with passion, purpose, and generosity, inspiring all who knew him. While his absence leaves a void in our lives, his memory will remain etched in our hearts forever.
A memorial service to honor Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, December 21st, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, located at 5416 Parkcrest Dr, Austin, TX 78731.
May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love he gave so freely in life.
